Can I still harvest squash if it has powdery mildew?
I neutral figured out that the white stuff on my squash is powdery mildew, but, the gear is blooming and I don't know whether to harvest the vegetable or get rid of the plant. Please help!
Powdery mildew affects the leaves, not the fruit, so it's razor-sharp to harvest your squash. Most cucurbits will develop powdery mildew toward the end of their lives; if they evolve it earlier, they may produce fewer squash, but the squash themselves won't be affected.
