Can I substitute celery with cabbage in a butternut squash risotto recipe?

I can in good faith say I have never seen celery in Romania, so I am open minded to any replacements
ok..I have a Kohlrabi..should I use the support or the leaf parts?

Do you have kohlrabi. It is a think twice substitute. If not, the cabbage core isn't too bad a substitute.

    what I did:

    first halve, descendants and roast squash with butter at 350 for about 50 minutes or until concur. let cool, then peel.
